New management team sets ambitious goals to drive growth at Delaware Consulting Netherlands

Eindhoven/Antwerp, 4 September 2012 – Delaware Consulting is proud to announce the arrival of Roel Winter and Jan-Bernard Blaas as new members of the Dutch management team to reinforce its ambitious plans for the Dutch market. Delaware Consulting headquarters move to a large, transparent and sustainable building at the historic Kapel ter Bede site

Kortrijk (Belgium), 9 January 2012 – Just before the start of this new year, IT services provider Delaware Consulting moved its headquarters at the historic Kapel ter Bede site, in east Kortrijk (Belgium). The existing offices at the Kennedypark in Kortrijk had become too small, over the past few years, to house the rapidly growing number of Delaware staff. The new building is large, easily accessible, built with sustainable materials and equipped with cutting-edge technology. Its transparent glass structure perfectly fits with the philosophy and strategy of the fast-expanding Delaware group.

Delaware Consulting has experienced impressive growth lately. In the space of a few short years, the number of employees at the head office in Kortrijk has doubled to over 300 people. This expansion compelled the IT services provider to hire extra office space in the vicinity of the Kennedypark. By relocating to a larger office block, Delaware ensures that all of its people are able to work closely together.

Easily accessible, sustainable and transparent

The building at the historic Kapel ter Bede site where Delaware kicked off the new year, was constructed by Koramic in 1968. In the 1990s, it housed the offices of both Koramic and Wienerberger. Koramic moved to a new building in 2006. Wienerberger has been working in new offices, in the reconverted drying sheds, since 2011. The facility’s exceptional accessibility, close to the E17 motorway, the green setting and the use of sustainable materials quickly won Delaware over. Moreover, thanks to its glass structure, the building breathes transparency, thereby echoing the philosophy of Delaware Consulting. The interior has been revamped to meet Delaware’s needs and the building has been equipped with state-of-the-art technology. The IT experts installed a biometrical identification system and replaced all telephones by Microsoft Lync 2010 - an online service for instant messaging, video chats, online meetings and presentations.

Delaware Consulting had been working in its former buildings since 2003, when the company was established in its current form. In 2006, the company strengthened its Belgian foothold by opening an office in Antwerp. Southeast Asia is big business

Three weeks after opening the new Asian office, located at the heart of Singapore, Delaware Consulting has already won four new deals with big-name regional companies.

The brand-new facility is a sequel to Delaware Consulting’s success story in Southeast Asia. For five years now, the group has been active from three different offices in China, employing over 80 IT consultants to serve its industrial customers. Haier, a manufacturer of white goods and consumer electronics, and carmaker Geely are just two names of Chinese companies that rely on Delaware Consulting.

In 2010, the IT service provider broadened its ERP portfolio by offering its Asian accounts robust solutions for e-commerce, including mobile applications and ‘Information Solutions’, i.e. solutions to manage large amounts of documents and unstructured data, based on OpenText products. Last week Delaware Consulting Netherlands achieved the award of best SAP All-in-One Partner of Benelux 2011 during the SAP Channel Camp in Sint Michelsgestel.

It was this year again a challenging program for Sales and Pre-Sales. Negotiating, dealing with complaints, Value Selling and giving a flashy demo by using the latest SAP Tools and Releases were central on the agenda. All this with a competitive attitude.

The topics were assessed by a professional jury consisting of SAP directors and SAP Ecosystem & Channels teams. Finally, it was up to the audience to choose the winning team during a thrilling final.

Fifteen All-in-One teams from all over the Benelux competed for the honor. Delaware Consulting was present with three teams, including a Dutch team and two teams from Belgium.

This is an opportunity for the 50 participants to discover the fabulous countryside and mountains of France combining sport spirit and cycling pleasure, with lifestyle and usability. This event gathers cyclists coming from different professional environment and business leaders, all driven by the goal of a personal achievement challenge and a unique experience of sharing business relations in a non-professional situation.

It will start on Saturday May the 28th at 1 o’clock on the “Place de la Mairie” in Talloires, and will arrive in June the 1st in Saint Tropez. A fun opportunity to move definitely from winter to summer, from the mountains to the beach.

Delaware is taken over by Bekaert. By now, Delaware has become reputed for providing solutions to complex IT problems.

1991
Merger of Delaware with the corporate IT services of Bekaert, resulting in an innovative team providing both business and IT solutions. Delaware further develops into an independent group that also provides Application Management Services to Bekaert.

1994
Merger of Delaware with PKS Electronics. This, and the opening of the new Ghent office, boosts the provision of services to non-Bekaert companies. Delaware further grows to become an important IT service provider in Belgium, both in the field of software development and infrastructure, and in the field of ERP package implementation.

1999
Bekaert sells the Delaware Computing Group. HP takes over Delaware Infrastructure Management, while Arthur Andersen incorporates Delaware Industrial Solutions.

2002
Arthur Andersen implodes as a consequence of the Enron case. The Belgian Andersen branches are incorporated in Deloitte.

2003
Through a Management Buy Out, three associates create Delaware Consulting in October 2003. This new and entirely independent company consists of 124 employees finding a home in the new Kortrijk office.

2005
Following a first strategic study, the first foreign office is set up in Suzhou, China, as part of the “follow the customer” philosophy.

2006
In 2006 Delaware sets up an office in Antwerp, its second Belgian branch. Delaware also sets up a joint venture with Kepler, resulting in a software development factory in Harbin, China.

2007
Opening of the first US based office (Atlanta, Georgia).

2008
Delaware initiates its Software as a Service business by setting up e-Kenz in Luxembourg, as well as founding Delaware Information Solutions. This department specializes in Unstructured Information Management.

2009
Opening of the first Dutch office in Den Bosch. Delaware also sets foot in France by opening a branch in Lyon. Following a second large strategic study, the partners restructure and Delaware Consulting International is founded as new parent company for the different branches. This allows Delaware to carry on with its sustainable and controlled growth and globalization.

2010
Delaware becomes owner of the joint venture in Harbin.
A third Chinese office is opened in Shanghai.
In Atlanta, Delaware sets up a joint venture with Exaserv, in order to position SAP solutions on the American SME market as well.
Delaware finds its soul mates in the Walloon-French Alliance Consulting. The partners decide to merge, hence improving Delaware’s position in the French speaking part of Belgium and in France. The SAP portfolio is supplemented by solutions for the Retail and Fashion business, among others.

2011
In 2011 another office is opened in the Netherlands (Eindhoven) and in the United States (Auburn). The group currently consists of 600 professionals and caters to 200 faithful customers.

Take-over of part of Domo’s ICT department

The deal is with immediate effect and concerns the SAP, BI and Systems people who will join Delaware’s existing teams and will also continue to service the customer Domo. As Domo has a renewed strategy for the Domoware application, their .NET people will stay within Domo.

Vermeersch has been working for Delaware Consulting for 13 years now, the last five years as director. The new formula, called SAP FAST-Start, is based on the rapidly growing concept of Software as a Service (SaaS). eKenz, Delaware Consulting’s Luxembourg branch, has been delivering software via the SaaS model for a while now and is experiencing growing interest in the concept.

In the Software as a Service concept, software is offered as a web-based service in a rental formula. HKD opens Harbin Fair

Kortrijk (Belgium), 15 juni 2009 On Monday June 15th, Harbin Kepler Delaware Software Development (HKD) officially opened the 20th International China Harbin Fair for Trade and Economic Cooperation. The Harbin Fair, which is held every year, is the biggest trade fair of northern China. It welcomes around 150.000 visitors from all over the world.

The opening ceremony was hosted by Hong Qi Cheng and was attended by Mr. Zhang Xiaolian, Mayor of Harbin, Ms. Wang Ying, Deputy, Secretary of the Party Committee of Harbin, Mr. Zhang Shaoliang, Vice- mayor of Harbin, Mr. He Wenhui, President of Hong Qi Cheng and Bernard Blanckaert, General Manager at HKD.

HKD has been attending the Fair since 2005 and has had a stand since 2008. It is the ideal fair in the North of China to introduce the company and its services to a wider audience.
