Adobe Forms
SAP NetWeaver innovation: Adobe Forms

Since the Adobe/SAP alliance was signed, SAP has integrated several powerful Adobe components into its solutions. This has resulted in the creation of a set of web-enabled services (Adobe Document Services or ADS), running on the SAP J2EE stack.

SAP Adobe Print-based Forms

SAP Adobe Print-based Forms are the innovative successors to the Sapscript and Smartforms technologies. As SAP is currently marketing Adobe Forms as the new, preferred form development tool, many SAP customers have already decided to use this technology for the development of new output documents. In the near future, standard documents, delivered with standard SAP, will be created in the Adobe environment as well.

Key benefits:

  • Output templates with advanced graphic features
  • User-friendly interface
  • Flexible integration of bar codes, images, etc.
  • No additional license costs; the development software is free to use as well

SAP Adobe Interactive Forms

SAP Adobe Interactive Forms is an excellent extension to the classic user interfaces in SAP GUI. Delaware has already implemented Interactive Forms solutions within the SAP PM, SAP SD and SAP MM modules.

The interactive forms can also be integrated into a larger context, such as BPM processes, workflows, etc. It is often used as a single point of entry to start a process. The form behaves as a data container that can communicate with all types of other systems using web-enabled service communication.

Key benefits:

  • User-friendly, familiar environment
  • Simplifies complex standard SAP transactions
  • Works seamlessly with free Adobe Reader software
  • Advanced features (integration of digital signatures, automatically embed attachments, etc.)
  • Paperless processes are more error-proof
